In the world, there are various religions, and the difference between religions often causes conflicts. Chairman Lee Man Hee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus suggested the leaders of various religions compare and learn about other religions. Agreeing with this idea, many religious leaders worldwide joined. This year, Shincheonji held its first Bible Exchange Program, titled, “The First World Invitation Revelation Special Lecture”.
“This program, which easily explains the Bible and guides to understand the context, is an amazing achievement. It was an opportunity for widening our knowledge and for better understanding of other religions.” A religious leader from Hinduism shared his opinion.
In this program, 80 religious leaders from ten religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Confucianism, etc., from 27 countries (including South Korea). In four days, the participants attended to special Revelation lecture, learned more specific contents (of the Bible), and had time for conversations among religions.
Chairman of Lee Man Hee Shincheonji explained the whole contents of Revelation at the first day’s special lecture, “Wouldn’t it be nice if every believer (religious person) be like light, which shows the glory of God? In the Bible, there are no high or low (persons), or mine and yours. I want to be one with you. Let’s all become one.” He warmly comforted and advised the participants.
“I realized that the Koran (Islamic religious scripture) and the Bible have lot in common while learning the Bible. People who couldn’t participate in this event, if they open their hearts and exchange with other, they can find out that there are lot in common among different religious scriptures,” a religious leader from Islam said confidently. He added, “We all want to spread love and make harmonious and peaceful world. May God blesses all people who are in God.”
A Buddhist monk expressed his satisfaction with this program, “I could understand Christianity through the correct Biblical explanation. This will help understand and harmonize with other religions. (Through this opportunity,) My understanding of my religion and other religions became deeper.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus officials said, “This Bible exchange program not only played important role of achieving religious peace, but also became an opportunity to confirm that the Bible is a believable scripture. This time, religious leaders visited Korea, studied and explored deeply about the Bible. It was a meaningful place to seek for understanding, solidarity, and the common value among religions.”
